in action movies, the hero is often depicted as someone who is isolated and has to make immoral decisions however his unconventional responses enable him to get the job done.however in disaster films the heroic role is within a group of people and they all have different strength to solve the problem

singing in the rain is a classic musical which is very famous and has many conventions of a typical musical and romantic comedy.
2) In what context did you encounter it?
I was introduced to this film by choice as my parents really enjoy this film
3) What influence do you think this context might have had on your interpretation of the text?
perhaps because it is an old film I would've interpreted it as an outdated film

one of my favourite genres

it is very typical as it had elements of romance, comedy, heartbreak etc...

I expect a cliche love story and large elements of comedy
